Another “just passing through” guest stayed with us recently. He said he is between jobs. The funny thing was that his former employer was Monster, the job-hunting company. After he got laid off he faced an interesting question: should he use the job-hunting services of his former employer?

He said he was angry at first, swearing never to accept any job-hunting advice from his employer. Instead, he went to online job-hunting and career sites to polish his resume, practice on interview questions, perk up his interview wardrobe and all the other job-hunting skills needed.

He says he has some hot job leads. We wished him well, and were glad he paid with a credit card instead of a personal check.
