I was surfing the web and came across a curious collection of little stores…the ecrater stores.

One of them was yearbooks.ecrater.com. Boy, talk about a specialized bookstore! All they sell is high school and college yearbooks, alumni directories, football programs and the like.

Another was MakeMoneyOnline.ecrater.com. They have a book on how to sell on eBay and Amazon, as well as how to set up your own online store and sell direct to buyers.

The last was downloads.ecrater.com. The site says they have Music, Video, Movies, Games, Software to download, but I couldn’t actually find much worth downloading. Maybe they are new.

I saw a discussion recently of the best printer to buy for a resort like the Naugas. Laser or inkjet, all-in-one or dedicated printer, networked or USB, which brand?

My best advice was to get a printer that can do what you need to have done. Since there are likely to be several models that meet the criteria, I also use this tie-breaker:

Are toner refill kits for the proposed printer available on eBay or can you buy them on eCrater? They way I see it, if you can buy a refill kit it’s like you are making money by not paying lots of cash for the overpriced ones the manufacturers sell.

If they’re not available, don’t buy it!

We had an unusual guest a couple of weeks ago. He wanted the best room, and he didn’t seem to worry about costs. Bought everybody at the bar a drink, drove a Lexus, fancy shoes…you get the picture. He was insistent that his room have a good Wi-Fi connection to the internet.

Well, maybe you don’t get the whole picture. You see, he was kind of…not really the most handsome guy around. Not the most clever, either. He could have dropped 50 or 100 pounds and still been big.

Naturally, everyone was a bit curious about him. Where did he get all that money, that wealth?

It’s funny how people open up after a few drinks at the bar. He did, too.

He said he used to be a flaming liberal in politics, a stalwart Democrat supporter of John Kerry, Hillary and Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. He called himself a Starbucks Democrat, because he loved his lattes every morning while he read the NY Times and blogged about politics.

At the time he was selling TV video equipment to churches. He sold video cameras, spotlights, camera booms, video recorders, mixers, microphones, training…whatever a church needed to bring its video ministry to the world outside the sanctuary. He mentioned some big name mega-churches that he had helped set up their video broadcasts and podcasts. He was doing well, financially.

Then he came across a website that taught how to make money online. By selling information online, he would not have to travel so much. He could work from home, or on vacation, to sell information products like ebooks, podcasts, video lessons, coaching and whatever else people wanted to buy. He started doing online marketing and began raking in the big money.

What did he decide to sell online? Was it political information? Was it church video ministry equipment?

No, he completely changed focus. He began selling aphrodisiacs online. Yes, sexy chemicals to entice members of the opposite sex. All kinds of pills and potions, including the proven aphrodisiac PT-141 / bremelanotide. He said he gets emails from satisfied customers, men and women, who say their sex lives have improved.

So, that is how our portly guest became rich…he made money online by selling aphrodisiacs. Who would have guessed?
